He’s hired to improve your reputation and does so by swooping in, saving the day, and moving onto the next one. But he can’t move one from his newest client. All’s fair in love and war. Raquel wants Clayton, and nothing is going to stand in her way, not even Clayton himself. He doesn’t know what hit him, and soon finds himself juggling between having to improve her reputation and feign off her advances. But Clayton’s determined to show Raquel who’s in charge at any cost, even if that means thwarting her seduction efforts. Will Miss Man-Eater change or ways? Or will Clayton become the latest victim entangled in her web?

She played with their combined fingers. “And what about us?”

“What about us?” He feigned ignorance.

“Well, what the hell was that when we first came in here? Because at first you barely acknowledged me, and then poof, my nipple’s in your mouth.”

He let go of her hand, rubbing it down his face. “Yeah, about that…”

“Don’t you dare apologize!” she squealed, poking him with her finger, sounding like a shrew.

He grabbed her finger. “I wasn’t going to apologize. I was going to tell you I don’t know what that was. It was like I couldn’t be around you all night without touching you.”

The grin spread slowly, giddy excitement spreading throughout her. “Seriously?”

He sat up and faced her so they were eye to eye. “I’ve never been more serious.”

Raquel wanted to believe him, to attack him until he couldn’t see straight, but there were too many doubts that continued to swirl through her head while she tried to process everything he’d said. “What about your rule ’no dating clients’ rule?”

He swallowed hard. “Let’s just say I’m going to have to trust you’re not playing me for a fool.”

“I’m not.” She held up two fingers. “Scout’s honor.”

He grabbed her hand, pulling her against him. He leaned down, kissing her lightly. “You were never a scout.”

She put her hand on his face. “Hell, no, but you like me a little bad.”

Book Promo: Excerpt & Giveaway! Partners in Crime by Downey Greene

Genre- Romantic Suspense
Gun, badge... and a swear jar?

Detective Faye Kane is a good cop. So when she smells a rat in her city she follows the facts no matter where they lead even if it’s right to Philadelphia’s own philanthropist and hopeful new mayor, Martino “Millie” Maliano. But after a rough day, sometimes even a cop needs to feel like a woman.

Enter Ian “Griff” McManus, rumored lead problem solver in Millie’s organization. After one hot night with a sexy stranger, he’s given a new target his boss needs quieted: Detective Faye Kane.

Dirty cops, loyalty, betrayal, even love. Detective Kane needs to sift through the ashes of her beloved city after it all comes down to find the one thing that matters, if she’s still standing.

Griff moved his hand to the back of her neck, applying a not so gentle squeeze. Bringing his mouth to her ear, he bit the lobe hard enough to make her yelp. “Got your attention now? What in the hell are you doing here, Sugar?” he growled. “Or should I just call you, Officer Kane?”

Faye reached around and threaded her fingers through his hair. Using it as leverage to pull him even closer against her, she whispered back, “Oh Ian,” her tone dripped with acid, “is that a problem for you? Don’t you want to see my big gun?”

He stiffened and ground his arousal harder against her, then growled and pushed her away roughly. Grabbing himself he shot back, “One big weapon is all this relationship can handle, Faye.”

Momentarily shocked by his crude response, she blinked and quickly squashed down the feelings his behavior evoked, refusing to let him see just how his actions affected her. As she stumbled back, Faye was caught by unfamiliar arms. She looked behind her and her mouth dropped open as she stared directly into the muddy brown eyes and shark toothed smile of Martino “Millie” Maliano.

Without thinking, she reached under her skirt and whipped out her Glock, aiming it at Griff. She grinned and stalked back to him with purpose, gun never wavering. But before she could reach him, she was grabbed around the waist and lifted off the ground.

WE…yes you read right. We are two separate individuals who met in a writing group on FB. In this group we dabbled in writing and hit it off, each liking the other’s strengths and complementing the other’s weaknesses. When the opportunity presented to Downey to submit to a publisher she approached Greene to join her in the journey. Both with hectic lives they took turns writing, swapping ideas and chapters, thus creating their first book, Partners in Crime. Here is a little something about the Dynamic Duo.

Downey: Otherwise known as Maureen lives in Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania. She is your typical suburban soccer mom; well ok there is nothing typical about her AND her kids play EVERYTHING but soccer. Downey as she is known in this duo has 5 kids ranging from 12 ½ to 19. And to answer the question swirling in your minds…YES, she is crazy. She has been married for over 21 years to her best friend and love of her life. She LOVES to read, her appetite is voracious for all things books. Her job at a local bookstore was by far one of the best experiences and fed her addiction to the written word. Going to book signings and having them at the store were her rock star moments; she is a total fan girl for authors. When that job disappeared she felt bereft, with much floundering she stumbled upon the underbelly of FB and fell in love with writing. Creating stories and weaving tall tales helped ease the indecision that plagued her. The feedback and support for her writing blew her away and prompted her to open Word and create. Loving how Greene weaved a story Downey decided they should become the Dynamic Duo. With the support of her family she has embarked on a totally unexpected new path. When she is not carting kids all over she is managing her kingdom…..in between all that she reads, blogs(BCWAB) and submerges herself in her make believe world and writes. In her case, truer words were never spoken.

How to do that when she’s as twitchy as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs? Find herself a writing partner. Enter Maureen Downey.

Happy Release Day: Excerpt & Giveaway!! Master Of No One by Tricia Owens

Aleksander is short-tempered, antisocial and though he’s unaware of it, wildly sexy. He’s also a naturally dominant shape-shifting monster who’s sliding into madness. He needs a human ‘grounder’ to submit to him and draw forth his protective human side. Instead he is given two humans: Constance, a fledgling sub with a reckless streak whose intense desire to serve has brought her nothing but heartache, and Kirk, a former NYPD cop who's trying to subdue his own alpha instincts and play submissive in order to fulfill a family debt.
But once these grounders meet their new master, they quickly discover that in order to save Aleksander from himself, they must alter their assigned roles and form a unique triad of domination and submission that goes against Aleksander’s very nature. Constance needs to convince Aleksander he can be gentle and protective, while Kirk wants to show him there is freedom in surrendering to another dominant. The task isn't easy, though: Aleksander fights them every step of the way, and a conspiracy surfaces which not even a creature as powerful as Aleksander may be able to overcome.

Kirk needed sleep—in a bed, not in a chair—but lying down and closing his eyes felt like an impossible feat while the sounds of Constance and Aleksander together in the bathroom continued to ring in his ears. He’d gotten up to take a piss and taken a peek down the hallway, just in case. The sight of the open workroom door had led him to investigate, tracking sounds that eventually led him to the master bathroom. There, he had stood, ear to door, hand cupped over his groin, as he listened to something incredible.

He could have guessed that Constance would sound beautiful in the midst of sex. There was a lushness about her and an openness in her responses during conversation that had hinted she would be not only loud in bed, but completely uninhibited. Standing against the door, shamelessly eavesdropping, he’d been glad to be proven right. He hoped he’d get his chance to coax those sounds from her too.

The surprise had been Aleksander. Even now, as he tiredly dragged on a pair of jeans, Kirk didn’t know what to think about his reaction to the noises the chimera had made. At first, he had convinced himself it was Constance alone he was being turned on by. Kirk had watched plenty of porn and learned to block out whatever the male star was doing and saying on screen and focus on the woman. He thought he’d been doing that in this case, until Aleksander emitted a desperate-sounding gasp, his voice nearly breaking, and Kirk’s cock had twitched violently in his hand as if it were a striking snake. After that he’d given up the pretense that he wasn’t listening to both of them, and to his pleasure it had made the experience ten times better.

“So I get off on the sound of a guy having sex with a beautiful woman,” he mused aloud. He shrugged, figuring as far as sexual triggers went, there were worse.

But it was more than that, wasn’t it? When Constance had emerged from the bathroom, flushed and fuckable, Kirk had wanted her, of course, but he’d wanted something more. He’d heard the tell-tale sounds of a blowjob and recognized Constance’s red, puffy lips for the evidence that they were. A hunger had seized hold of Kirk to taste her, but he couldn’t deny that when his tongue delved inside her mouth he’d gone looking for another taste as well. Call it curiosity. And when he’d found that salty, slightly bitter tang he’d felt a lightning bolt of forbidden lust strike him.

What did it all mean? Maybe something. Maybe nothing. Kirk wasn’t one for self-analyzing. Actions spoke louder than thoughts in his world. He’d let this one play out.

He scrubbed at his hair as he headed for the kitchen, planning on a glass of milk before trying to hit the hay again. His body was energized but gradually winding down, as if he’d just completed a long run. He was going to sleep like the dead when he was finally able to shut his eyes and relax.

It wouldn’t be that easy, he discovered upon entering the kitchen.

Aleksander looked up from the tall glass that he’d been contemplating. It appeared to contain a thick shake. His hair was damp. Worse, he appeared to be naked save for the towel wrapped carelessly around his hips. But he looked better, the best Kirk had seen him yet.

“Hey,” Kirk greeted him, pausing with the kitchen island between them. He yawned for effect. “Just getting some milk before I hit the sack.”

“Recent exertions tiring you?” Aleksander asked. There was a wicked gleam in his eyes that Kirk found intriguing.

“Something like that,” Kirk said with a smirk. “You look better.”

Aleksander’s expression washed neutral. “Constance told me you entered my room without my permission again.”

“If you’re asking if I saved your life, the answer is yes.”

He earned a glare for that one, but it was worth it.

“I didn’t ask you to,” the chimera growled softly.

“Maybe not. But Constance would have been disappointed if I’d let you die. Probably a lot of other people and creatures would be too. You’re a popular guy.”

The comment appeared to irritate him, prompting Aleksander to drink from his glass. “Thank you,” he mumbled against its rim.

“Just doing my job.”

Aleksander huffed. “That’s right. You told Michel you’re my grounder. Interesting strategy putting yourself in an immediate position of inferiority against him.”

“Is it inferior? I got the impression a grounder is the only thing that’s going to keep you from falling apart.” Kirk smiled as the other male clenched his jaw. “Seems like a pretty important role, if you ask me.”

“And how do you expect to fulfill your role?”

Kirk idly adjusted the fit of his jeans, hoping Aleksander hadn’t noticed that they’d begun to grow tight in the crotch. Something about Aleksander got him going. Maybe it was the attitude, which seemed to be a prerequisite amongst chimera. It made Kirk want to take him down a peg and stand over him after he’d fallen.

Nothing like some homoerotic imagery there, he chided himself.

“I’m here to help,” he said.

Aleksander traced his tongue across his bottom lip. “As Constance ‘helps’?”

Kirk resisted the impulse to laugh and play it off. It would be a nervous tell and he wasn’t about to give Aleksander the satisfaction. “I was thinking more along the lines of being a friend who helps you let off steam. Physically.” When the chimera’s lips twitched, he quickly added, “I mean like boxing. Or sports. Whatever it is you do to keep in shape.” He motioned vaguely at the other male’s body. “Do you run, or workout or—”

“You couldn’t last with or against me, little human. You’re no use to me in that way.” Aleksander panned down Kirk’s body. “Though you’re fit and...large for your kind.” A crease appeared in his forehead and he resumed staring into his glass.

Fit and large? If you only knew, buddy.

Kirk sensed he’d gained some ground, even if it was only a few inches. “I can hold my own against you, Aleksander. You’d just have to pull your punches so you didn’t kill me. Maybe that’s what you need. Someone to help you practice restraint.”

“I can control myself!” the chimera hissed.

“I don’t doubt it. You’re just out of practice, that’s all.” Kirk spread his hands in offering. “That’s why I’m here. Come on,” he cajoled when Aleksander didn’t respond, “don’t you want to hit me? Just a little bit?”

A grudging smile played over Aleksander’s lips, quickly wiped away. It was a victory. No one could convince Kirk otherwise.

“Then how about some wrestling? Mano a mano?”

Wow, that couldn’t be gayer, Kirk thought. But he glimpsed interest on Aleksander’s face. Maybe the chimera was so old that wrestling was as common to him as playing football or basketball was to Kirk.

“You wouldn’t stand a chance,” Aleksander muttered, dismissively.

The chimera was talking smack? Kirk had to hold back a hoot of triumph. He played it cool, crossing his arms and returning the other male’s skepticism.

“I think you’re just saying that because you’re so weak right now. You couldn’t stand on your own two feet not twelve hours ago.”

He knew that would motivate Aleksander like a cattle prod up the ass.

“I think you heard exactly how weak I am,” Aleksander snarled, shoving back his chair and standing. “You should have opened the door, little human, and added yourself to the fray.”

Kirk’s face flushed. “Just because you’re a screamer doesn’t mean you did any of the work. It was all Constance.”

Aleksander’s eyes actually bulged, making Kirk have a hard time remembering that the other male wasn’t human even if he could look like it.

“You want to suffer? It will be my pleasure to indulge you.” Aleksander shoved past him, his bare shoulder slamming into Kirk’s and knocking him back a couple of paces. He was reminded, quite violently, that the chimera was built differently, was so solid Kirk had had trouble lifting him. How the hell was he going to wrestle against that?

Promise Me - Sexy Excerpt © Hilary Wynne 2015
“You trying to dunk me with that sexy little body of yours. You know that won’t happen, right? I’m all about you wrapping your strong legs around me and rubbing yourself against me though.” Julian’s eyes are sparkling with amusement.

I put my lips to his ear and respond seductively. “I can’t wait to get out of these wet clothes and rub my body up and down yours. But if you want to fuck me right here, right now, I’m all about that.”

I’ve felt Julian’s erection against me since I wrapped my legs around him, but I can feel him harden even more with my offer. When I pull back and look at him, I see the amusement is gone, and lust has taken over. Julian keeps one hand wrapped around my waist and moves the other under the water. He slides my shorts and panties off, balls them up, and sticks them in his shorts pocket.

“Don’t lose those. I need to be able to get out of the water.”

Julian winks at me and kisses me sweetly as he slides his fingers into me. I grind my hips into him and he thrusts inside of me. I whisper in his ear as I reach below the water, pull his shorts down, and take him in my hand. “I want this.”

Without taking our eyes off of each other, Julian guides his shaft into me. The water makes it a little more difficult and a little uncomfortable at first but, as soon as he’s all the way inside, my body begins to relax. His movements are slow and easy, and as I enjoy the feeling of fullness he has created, I hear voices behind us on the shore. I glance backward and see a couple walking near the water with their dog. They try not to look, but they can’t seem to help themselves. I look down and see the lower halves of our bodies are completely covered. There is no way they can see what we’re doing, but I imagine they have a pretty good idea. I look at Julian, who is now rubbing my clit with the hand that’s underwater. I must have a naughty look in my eyes. “That turns you on, doesn’t it? You like that those people wonder if we’re fucking, don’t you? If they’re wondering if my dick is inside of you.”

I grind myself into his hand; I can’t help but moan as his fingers work their magic. “Yes.”

“That’s so fucking hot, baby. I want you to cum for me. I want you to look at me and let go, sexy girl.”

I wrap my legs tighter around Julian and contract all the muscles in my lower body as my orgasm starts racing through me. I don’t take my eyes off him, and just as I’m about to finish, I feel his thrusts speed up a little as he unloads into me. His orgasm surprises me a little. I didn’t know he was so close.

“I didn’t know you were ready to get off.”

That makes him chuckle a little. “I’ve been turned on since you put those tiny shorts on. Watching you run makes me hard. Seeing how your body moves, and thinking about it under me moving like that. Watching and feeling you get more turned on when you thought we were being watched. Listening to you tell me you were going to tie me up. Are you kidding me? I could’ve cum an hour ago.”

Have you ever woken up one day and said, “Today’s the day I’m going to do (insert thing here)?” Well, I did, and the result is my first novel, Stay. I always thought of myself as a decent writer, and then a trip down memory lane through my ninth grade book of poetry confirmed it. I realize that I have always had a romantic side and a way with words. With support from my husband and kids (and an unspoken agreement to leave me alone for a few hours every night), I embarked on this incredible writing journey.
I’m originally from sunny Southern California and spent my summers in South Florida. I attended college at FSU and received my Masters in New Mexico. I finally settled in the Washington, DC area. My happy place has always been anywhere near the water.
When I’m not writing, I help run a business with my husband, watch an inordinate amount of sports (my kids play something 365 days a year), indulge my competitive spirit on the tennis court, and spend time with my awesome family and friends.
I am an avid reader, but find my characters feel neglected when I hang out with other author’s characters for too long. When I do read, historical fiction is my favorite genre. I love traveling and experiencing different cultures, places, and times.
I feel so blessed that my love of books inspired me to finally do something that I forgot I had always dreamed about doing.
My someday has arrived!
