Breaking up is hard to do. Three years after her life changed forever, Gabriella Latham finally has it all. Killer job [if working for her boyfriend counts]. Killer closet [even if she doesn't technically own any of it]. Killer boyfriend [who refuses to let her leave him, even when she tries]. Unfortunately for her, the last part isn't hyperbole. She just doesn't know it yet. Adrian Morningstar was a dream come true. No one had ever loved her more, and for the first time, in longer than she could remember, she was no longer alone. He was the Prince Charming to her Cinderella, until suddenly he became the Beast from whom she could not escape. Until him. When Rafe Matthews is hired to oversee the guest home construction of one of the most powerful businessmen in the country, he finally has his in. Nothing will get in the way of what he sets out to do. Until her. Watching from the shadows, he's drawn to the beautiful, isolated woman of the house. His curiosity is piqued and he has to have her. She may be taken by the boss, but that's not enough to stop him. Or her. It leads to a game of cat and mouse. But who is the true predator? And who is the prey? Nothing is quite as it seems. Passions ignite. Tempers flare. Secrets kill.

"You know too much as it is. It's too late. God, I'm so fucking sorry for this. Sometimes I wish I'd never laid eyes on you that day. That I'd just kept going. And yet, no matter what happens, I'll cherish the memories we had for the rest of my life. I couldn’t live without them, as selfish as that sounds. But then again, I think you've found I'm a selfish man."

I'm a twenty something book junkie who is also obsessed with sports. Bengals, Buckeyes, Reds are my teams! I work for the government during the day, hang out with Air National Guard on the weekends, and have been married to my own book boyfriend for over seven years. We currently live right outside of Dayton, OH with our two cats. If I’m not writing or looking through tons of photos of hot men, all in the name of research, then you can probably find me curled up with my Kindle, ignoring the rest of the world. I love my sports almost as much as I love my books. My other obsessions include red wine, hot men, country music, and all things Grace Potter.

Book Promo: Excerpt & Giveaway! Red Handed, A Benediction Novel by Shelly Bell

Shelly Bell returns with another steamy and suspenseful thriller set at the exclusive sex club Benediction …

An exhibitionist who's waited her whole life to be seen …

After her stepmother is abducted, Danielle Walker has no choice but to follow the kidnapper's cryptic instructions. Under the guise of a sex slave trainee, she must infiltrate Cole DeMarco's BDSM club and find evidence of his offshore bank account … or she'll never see her stepmother alive again. But Master Cole is no stranger, and despite the dark past they share, Danielle cannot resist his magnetic pull.

The voyeur who's always been watching …

As Danielle begins uncovering Cole's secrets, the artistic voyeur arouses her deepest desires, and she surrenders to a fiery passion she never expected. But with time running out to save her stepmother, Danielle and Cole will face off against an evil growing more ruthless by the day … and discover a twisted web of lies, betrayal, and murder that neither saw coming.

Cole pushed back from his desk and swiveled his chair toward Adrian. “I’m afraid our new slave here is keeping secrets. That deserves a punishment, don’t you agree?”

Adrian bowed his head. “Yes, Master.”

Punishment? A chill passed through her, hardening her nipples and creating shivers down her arms. A heaviness settled in her chest, causing her to feel breathless. She was guessing punishment wouldn’t be a time-out. Her own father had never laid a hand on her in reprimand. She’d never given him reason. Fifteen minutes in this house and she’d already earned one. How the heck would she survive however long it took to save Tasha?

The strangest part of it was her reaction was only based in part on fear. She hated that his words aroused her, and she had no idea why.

“What’s your favorite color, Danielle?” Cole asked.

Shivering, she thought about home and the burning glow of the Arizona sun on Mt. McDowell at sunset, so different from the cold she’d found in Michigan. “I . . . uh . . . red.”

Adrian chuckled but covered it with a cough and a hand to his full lips. Her stomach swooped and her body tingled as though she was on a roller coaster, balanced on the top of the largest hill, facing the inevitable drop.

“She’s new to this, so I think we’ll start gentle,” Cole said to Adrian. “Let’s try ten open-hand spankings.”

Her mouth parted to protest, but the image in her mind of Tasha being blindfolded, bound, and gagged stopped her. Who knew what horrible things were happening to her right now?

The least Danielle could do was endure a harmless spanking. How badly could it hurt?

“Take off your panties and bend over my desk. Let’s see if Adrian can turn your ass your favorite color.”

She sucked in a large breath and slowly let it out, gathering the nerve to bare herself to these men. They’d already seen most of her, and she’d survived.

She sighed. “I should’ve said pink.”

Adrian didn’t suppress his laughter this time. Cole, on the other hand, didn’t appear amused, his lips tightened into a straight line. “I’ll pretend I didn’t hear that, but in the future, back talk will result in additional punishment, brat.”

A brat? Her? He really didn’t know her at all. No one here did.

And that’s when it hit her. Here at Benediction, she was a blank slate. She could be whomever she wanted. For the first time in her life, it was safe to surrender to her secret desires.

A sucker for a happy ending, Shelly Bell writes sensual romance often with a bit of kink and action-filled erotic thrillers with high-emotional stakes for her alpha heroes and kick-ass heroines.
She began writing upon the insistence of her husband who dragged her to the store and bought her a laptop. When she’s not working her day job, taking care of her family, or writing, you’ll find her reading the latest smutty romance.
She currently writes for Avon Red Impulse, Loose Id, and Soul Mate Publishing.

Book Promo: Excerpt & Giveaway! Red by Alyxandra Harvey

Bad girls burn hot…

Red is the color of Kia Alcott's hair.
It's her temper, which blazes hot and always gets Kia into way too much trouble.
And it's the color of fire. Fires that Kia can start…just by thinking about them.

When her latest “episode” gets her kicked out of school, Kia is shipped off to her grandmother, who works for the wealthy Blackwoods. It's an estate shrouded in secrets, surrounded by rules, and presided over by a family that is far from normal…including the gorgeous and insolent Ethan Blackwood.

Ethan knows far more about the dangers of the forest surrounding the estate than Kia can ever imagine. For this forest has teeth, and Ethan is charged with protecting the outside world from its vicious mysteries.

But inside, even the most vibrant shade of red doesn't stand a chance against the dark secrets of the Blackwood family…

The tower room had an iron gate, like something out of a horror movie. It was open at the moment, but I could see the impressive locks even from here. I wondered what could possibly need to be contained that carefully. Besides me. A tiny shiver danced over the back of my neck as I peered inside. Spears with decorative beaded bands, arrows, and swords, were all lined up with military, rather than museum, precision. And a lot of stuffed animal heads. There was a stag with chunks of turquoise stones for eyes, a crane standing on a log, a white bull with gold horns, and a horse head with a horn attached to its forehead to make it look like a unicorn. Rich people were weird. I was stepping inside when a hand closed tightly around my arm, jerking me to a stop. I shouted something that was definitely not ladylike enough for this house. My pulse thumped in my ears. “You shouldn’t be in here,” the person said. He flexed his hands suddenly, the way people do when they’ve touched something too hot. He wore a silver ring on his thumb. I tried to concentrate on that instead of the spark of panic smoldering in my belly. Burning down a private museum seemed like a really bad introduction to my new life. Had he seen the tiny spark that ate a hole in my sleeve? I rubbed it, making sure it wouldn’t flare up again. I wasn’t even sure if it was a new spark or a burn from an old one. I’d learned I didn’t need kindling—, I was kindling. My palms itched painfully. I shoved the guy to distract him from the heat coming off of me. “Who the hell are you?” “Ethan,” he replied. Ethan Blackwood. Of course. Way to make a first impression. “You must be Abby’s granddaughter.” He was standing very close. And I’d just known he’d be gorgeous. I assumed he’d have better manners, though. Possibly no one else noticed with that ridiculously beautiful face. His hair was blond, his cheekbones deadly. He was lean and muscular, like someone who knew exactly what his body was capable of. And I was thinking way too much about this. “Get out of here,” he said softly, intently. His mouth was distracting; it belonged to a villain in a movie full of secrets and temptation. “Now.” I was suddenly embarrassed, as if he could read my mind. A little more aggressive misdirection couldn’t hurt. “Have you considered taking up yoga?” I asked with patently false sweetness. “You’re a little tense.” “Just go,” he said. “You—” “Ethan!” Holden Blackwood interrupted us, sounding shocked and annoyed. “Leave the poor girl alone.” A muscle leapt in Ethan’s jaw as he clenched it. He didn’t look at his father, just kept staring at me. “Ethan!” Holden repeated, annoyance hardening to anger. Ethan shoved past me so suddenly I toppled into the door frame. I heard his footsteps stomp down the hall and then the slamming of his bedroom door. “I apologize for my son.” Holden sighed. “I fear I’ve spoiled him.” Yeah, I couldn’t exactly picture Ethan with an after-school job. Speaking of which, I was going to have to get one as soon as possible. Abby wasn’t the type to give out an allowance, even if she’d been able to afford it. I shrugged awkwardly at Ethan’s dad. “It’s fine.” “It certainly is not, but it’s gracious of you to say so.” I couldn’t think of a person more opposite to Abby than Holden Blackwood. Or more opposite to my dad, come to think of it. He screamed sophistication and wealth. The Alcotts just screamed. “Perhaps you’ll do him good, Kia.”
I nearly snorted. He smiled briefly. “Sorry,” I said, motioning to the trophy room before I opened my big mouth and told him I didn’t do miracles and his brat of a son was beyond my help.

Alyxandra Harvey lives in a stone Victorian house in Ontario, Canada with a few resident ghosts who are allowed to stay as long as they keep company manners. She loves medieval dresses, used to be able to recite all of The Lady of Shalott by Tennyson, and has been accused, more than once, of being born in the wrong century. She believes this to be mostly true except for the fact that she really likes running water, women’s rights, and ice cream.
Among her favourite books are ‘The Wood Wife’ by Terri Windling, ‘Jane Eyre’ by Charlotte Bronte, and of course, ‘Pride and Prejudice’ by Jane Austen. Elizabeth Bennet is her hero because she’s smart and sassy, and Mr. Darcy is, well, yum.
Aside from the ghosts, she also lives with husband and their dogs. She likes cinnamon lattes, tattoos and books.

Book Blitz: Excerpt & Giveaway! Elevated by Daniel Solomon Kaplan

Elevated is the first book in a young adult sci-fi series, which takes its inspiration from comic book adventure stories.

A tap on my shoulder causes me to lurch.

“You’re next,” Elliott says.

What did I do to deserve waiting with this guy? “Yeah.”

“Can you really do it?” Elliott asks.

“Do what?”

“Live not knowing, not seeing what could be.”

“I could ask you the same question.”

He’s puzzled.

“Let’s say you go through those doors and become an Unsound. And you get locked away from your family and friends for your entire life. Tell me you won't wonder what a normal life could be.”

Elliott leans in. “You know an Unsound, don’t you?”

I nod. “My dad.”

He turns his head away from me. “I’m sorry.”

I’ve always faced the same reaction. They think it’s sympathy, but it’s fear. As much as everyone talks about genetics not factoring in and your parents not determining your powers, having an Unsound in the family is mark of shame. Most don’t discuss it. The only person in my high school that knows is Aaron. After the torture thrown at me in middle school, the last thing I want to do is let anyone know.

The exit door stands to my left. I want to bolt. Want to get out of this place. Something keeps me glued to my chair.

“Rose. I know you’re scared. But if you leave now, you won’t get another chance.”

He’s right. With millions of kids involved, getting another appointment is near impossible. I would end up with the other Basics. I stare at the screen, willing the phoenix not to fly by again.

“Rose. Think about this.”

“You think I haven’t? It’s all I’ve thought for years. I’m not like you, or the other kids here. You sit there, blindly waiting for your number to be called, trusting everything will be—“

“You don't know me at all.” For the first time, there’s terror in Elliott’s face. He turns back to watch the screen.

“So you’re scared too, then.”

Did he feel as helpless as I did?

Elliott takes a deep breath. “I can't control which system I was born in. I can only control how I cope with it.”

“That's the only power you think you have?” I ask.

“It’s the only power any of us have. Anything else is an illusion.”

My heart jolts as the phoenix flies by and displays my number. The mechanical voice cuts through me. “Now serving A535. That's A535. Thank you.”

I’m still. Trapped between two worlds. Somehow, none of the thinking, the planning or the debating have prepared me for this moment. Elliott stands and tries to nudge me out of my chair. I won’t move. I’ll wait here. If they want me so bad, they can drag me through those doors. A part of me wishes they would. The exit is a few steps away.

“Rose, please!” His blue eyes plead with me.

Release Day Blitz & Giveaway! Broken Blood, Dirty Blood #5 by Heather Hildenbrand

I thought watching my Werewolf boyfriend get arrested for murder was the worst experience of my life. But then I was knocked out and dragged off to a cell of my own by the very people who were supposed to protect me from danger.

I thought being held prisoner in solitary confinement for weeks on end was the worst experience of my life. But then a visitor came, and I realized I’d been wrong all along. There are worse things than torture and death. Much worse.

He wants my blood. More than that, he wants to get into my head. To use my bond to control his army, to wipe the world clean of anything with dirty blood. I can’t let that happen, but if I don’t he’ll kill every single person I’ve ever cared about—beginning with my Werewolf pack.

The prophecy said I would have to make an impossible choice, but I must be doing this wrong—so far every choice I’ve made has only led to more pain and danger and death. Hunters are pitted against Werewolves and I’m alone in my war against Gordon Steppe. I can’t fight him off anymore; all I can do is try to keep him out of the important places. And I’m failing at even that.

I thought the demons were out there, clearly marked and clinging to the shadows. But they’re not. The monsters are within the ranks of those sworn to protect. The enemy is among us.

My insides are boiling from my adrenaline-filled rage. I never suspected Jake really felt the way he does. Stabbing myself in the eye would feel ten times better than the pain of his words. I couldn’t believe he said that, yet I could. Jake has always been an asshole; however, this takes the cake. The moment he spoke his true inner feelings, all I saw was red. He doesn’t consider me his brother, only a stray Reggie saved. Reggie moves to my side and puts his hand on my forearm, squeezing hard enough for me to take notice. I glance up to his face, and it’s painfully obvious he was also hurt by Jake’s words. Reggie is probably internalizing it and blaming himself for this moment, but I think it’s good everything is out in the open. Jake is always quite candid when he’s drinking; I’m just surprised it took so long for the words to fall out of his mouth. However, I’m glad his true feelings are out. Now we can really move on from this night, and the night will be known as the one the Evans brothers became no more. Reggie clears his throat, as if he’s trying to swallow down the fury that’s settled inside his body. “Jake,” he says in a quiet, deep tone, “I think it’s time to leave.” “You’re kicking me out?” Jake is baffled. He tucks his flask back into his pocket before approaching Reggie. “Fine, I will leave. I always knew you were a pussy. You could never stand up to her… or him, for that matter.” Jake shoulders past Reggie, snags Delilah’s arm, and walks from the garage, shouting to her to get the kids as he moves to his car and sits in the passenger seat. I stand at the threshold of the door and look at my brother. I’m really not mad anymore. I feel sorry for him. He’s defaulting to truly harmful words to make the rest of us feel as bad as he does. In fact, he’s acting like a child. Jake’s always been dramatic, so I guess I should have expected nothing less. Yet what he said is unforgettable. I’m not sure how forgiving I can be after hearing what he said. The hateful words will always be in the back of my mind. Zoe and Delilah file down the back steps with all the kids in tow. Delilah quickly ushers them to the car and straps them in as Jake continues to stare me down, taking small sips from his flask. He doesn’t know it yet, but he’s about to lose everything he has unless he has a come-to-Jesus meeting with himself and changes how he treats Delilah. If she were smart, she wouldn’t stick around for the aftermath of this night. Jake is bound to be intolerable. Delilah falls into the driver’s seat and backs away from the house as we all stand in the driveway, watching them drive off. I know Reggie feels like he’s watching his family leave for the last time. ~Drake Evans
