Review! Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

My Review ...

I have a problem. Every time I open a new Colleen Hoover book I am a little bit afraid I won’t like it, or that I’ll like it so much it will turn me into a confused mess of emotions by the time I’m done with it (Slammed).

It took me three days to convince myself to read this novel. For three days I kept wondering who Miles and Tate are and if I’ll like their story.

Here I am now, grinning like a loon and wiping away the tears that won’t stop falling. I loved every single moment of it.

Colleen’s books have always managed to get to me and make me feel more than I wanted to sometimes. You know why? Because there are no pretenses. The characters are never perfect and they don’t always have a solution for every problem.

I’m certain a lot of people out there have read her books and identified with a character or have been in a similar situation at one point or another in life.

Nothing is always perfect or easy in Colleen’s books. She never tries to embellish a situation just to make it easier for us to read through it and she never shies from putting too much strain on the characters.

Ugly Love is no exception. I don’t know what you’ll think after reading the title and the synopsis. There’s no shady love story or something like that. What you’ll find in this book is a tender, emotional, beautiful story that will break your heart, make you cry, put a smile on your face just to make you cry all over again.

It doesn’t always happen to me to actually “feel” the story while reading it so this is what makes this lady one of my favorite authors. This book is really good. No arguments there.

Even more so because it was my turn to “know” exactly what it feels like.To remember.

And, yes, love is never easy. To have the beautiful part you have to take the ugly also. But when it’s right, it’s always worth it in the end. What we have to keep in mind is that everything happens for a reason. It might be difficult to see it at that time but, later, it will all make sense.

Life may throw many things your way but that’s okay as long as you don’t give up. Always get up and fight. Fall in love and allow yourselves to be loved in return because, while love can break you, if you allow it, it can also heal. There’s always a place for a second chance.

Thank you, Colleen, for another wonderful book and for reminding me that it’s okay to remember and it’s never too late to forgive.

“Love isn't always pretty. Sometimes you spend all your time hoping it'll eventually be something different. Something better. Then, before you know it, you're back to square one, and you lost your heart somewhere along the way.”

Happy Reading!!
