Diana's Reviews! On Dublin Street (On Dublin Street #1) by Samantha Young

Jocelyn Butler has been hiding from her past for years. But all her secrets are about to be laid bare…

Four years ago, Jocelyn left her tragic past behind in the States and started over in Scotland, burying her grief, ignoring her demons, and forging ahead without attachments. Her solitary life is working well—until she moves into a new apartment on Dublin Street where she meets a man who shakes her carefully guarded world to its core.

Braden Carmichael is used to getting what he wants, and he’s determined to get Jocelyn into his bed. Knowing how skittish she is about entering a relationship, Braden proposes an arrangement that will satisfy their intense attraction without any strings attached.

But after an intrigued Jocelyn accepts, she realizes that Braden won’t be satisfied with just mind-blowing passion. The stubborn Scotsman is intent on truly knowing her… down to the very soul.

This is the story of two young people damaged by the past , who still carry the burden of the pain on their shoulders , a story of learning how to trust and love again.

Jocelyn has lost both her parents when she was just a teenager and she still hasn’t managed to deal with the pain. Now she’s a graduate who doesn’t know how to socialize and all she wants is to become a writer.

Braden grew up believing that you can’t trust anyone and money don’t buy happiness. He doesn’t have time for a serious relationship and he doesn’t want one anymore, since he has learned that even those who pretend to love you will eventually betray you.

From the moment they meet, they are like a barrel of dynamite ready to explode. Every interaction is intense and more than a few sparks will fly.

The attraction between them is strong but, as much as they’d like to act on it, they’re not ready for anything more than a physical relationship. No strings attached.

But you know what they say about best laid plans. Both Jocelyn and Braden will have to decide if they’re willing to open their hearts and risk being hurt again or play it safe and go their separate ways.

This novel has everything you may want. There’s humor, hot scenes, smart, well developed and fascinating characters, a little bit of drama and lots and lots of emotions. You’ll be so captivated that you won’t be able to put it down. It was like that for me.

Samantha Young writes beautifully and I cannot wait to read her next novel!

I highly recommend it!

Happy Reading!
